According to the latest WEF report, demand for these skills is skyrocketing, highlighting the importance of equipping oneself with them as a smart career move.

Forecasts suggest that by 2027, 44% of core workforce skills will undergo changes, requiring both employees and employers to actively update relevant competencies. Among these, analytical thinking is projected to be one of the most critical skill groups, with a growth rate of 72% over the next five years. This is because tasks like reasoning and decision-making remain among the least automated in today’s work environment.

Additionally, the demand for creative thinking is projected to grow even faster, with a 73% increase during the same period. Technological skills, lifelong learning ability, adaptability, resilience, self-motivation, and self-awareness are also becoming essential traits, enabling workers to adapt and thrive in an ever-changing environment.

While no skill is entirely obsolete, traditional skills like reading, writing, mathematics, and manual craftsmanship are gradually losing their prominence in modern industries. The report indicates that 60% of workers will require retraining by 2027, yet only half currently have full access to training programs. Investment in education and training is becoming a necessity, with 82% of companies already planning to implement such initiatives.

According to the World Economic Forum’s Workforce Report, data and AI fields rank among the top 10 most in-demand sectors globally. Data analytics, in particular, is witnessing a surge in demand not only in developed countries like the United States and the UK but also in emerging markets. For example, data analytics-related job positions in India and Brazil have grown by 45% and 50%, respectively, over the past two years.

Glassdoor statistics show that the average annual salary of a data analyst in the U.S. is approximately $110,000, while in Europe, it is around €65,000. For remote positions, salaries can reach up to $150,000 annually, equivalent to about 3.8 billion VND.
